AUTOBIOGRAPHY

MICHAEL J ANDERSON

I have been writing and telling stories since I was a young child. Perhaps it was inevitable I would call grappling with words and language a future career—and loving every moment. I would be privileged to share my work with a welcoming audience.

I grew up in a small town called Elmers End, A lawless refuge for the wanted and unwanted alike. Apologies, that was an inside joke for those of you who could stomach at least the first three pages of my debut novel, The Good, the Bad, the Misunderstood...another shameless plug. Anyway, Elmers End, It was kinda squashed between Beckenham and Crystal Palace, not of huge importance, but thought I'd mention it. As any child growing up through the seventies and eighties, entertainment was in short supply: no mobile phones, no internet, not even, Netflix; "I didn't say this would be an easy read". So what you were left with was feral children disappearing out their homes, after a slice of toast and not to return until six on the dot for supper, usually just before dad arrived home. During that magical time after breakfast and before tea, we had to fall back on something called imagination for our entertainment. Its was those times exploring haunted derelict houses or camping in old war bunkers in the local sewage farm that stories began to manifest. I then managed to get a job in journalism, and my writing flourished there onwards, if only that were true. I actually managed to get a job in Telecoms, Well, not me exactly; my mother applied for the job without my knowledge. Thirty years later and still in Telecoms, but the writing never left. Finally I decided to bite the bullet and take it seriously, which brings me to here. My first novel completed and soon to be released with hopefully two more in the series if it's well-received.
So that's a little bit about me, get in touch to discover more about my journey, writing process and future endeavours.
